Hi all,
I have an exciting announcement to share! Tuesday Community Dance is now
open to the public for in-person participation with pre-registration
https://forms.gle/NtsKEv4EH1yzYisN7. We still have a Zoom component for
those who wish to remain virtual, no registration needed.
Next week (10/25) we’ll be having our annual Halloween Party, so please
wear a Halloween costume that you can dance in and bring (pre-registered)
friends!
We dance every Tuesday (including tonight) from 7-9pm in Studio 2 at the
UMass Lowell Campus Recreation Center on East Campus. Limited street
parking is available as well as a parking garage, both of which are free
after 6pm.
Community members must pre-register at the link above to attend the dance
by Monday at 5pm the week of the dance. (If you would like to attend
tonight we will make an exception, but please email me after you have
registered at Sarah_Bustin@student.uml.edu.) We are doing this so that we
can get a headcount and send information to Club Sports about who is
attending. It is possible to register for multiple weeks at a time. Masks
continue to be optional per UMass Lowell policy.
Tuesday Community Dance (TCD) is the public arm of the UML Folk Dance Club
(UML FDC). Andy Taylor is our primary teacher, with me (Sarah B) as a
teacher in training. We usually do between 12-15 dances per night of
various origins, styles, and difficulties, and we try to do at least one
partner dance per evening. Our weekly programs can be found at the website
below. As of now we have 5-8 regularly attending students, and we're hoping
for more.
Our website is
https://www.mladostfolk.com/mladost-community-dance. (Despite our use of
the Mladost website, we are not directly affiliated with Mladost.) There is
a button on the website where you can sign up for our email list. You have
the option of hearing from us weekly or every few months with special
events and announcements.
Please direct questions and comments to me at Sarah_Bustin@student.uml.edu.
Hope to see you on a Tuesday sometime soon,
Sarah Bustin
