Hi all -

Looks like another great dance weekend in Boston - and here’s a gentle “push” to find time to exercise your brain cells too, at a Friday night dance workshop, from a popular teacher of Balkan dances.

And I hope that this post is not “new” news to anyone, but for those who missed the notices in the FAC Newsletter …

The Folk Arts Center is pleased to announce that we are hosting Lee Otterholt for a dance workshop, this Friday, May 16th, at 8:00pm, at the Park Ave Congregational Church, 50 Paul Revere Rd, Arlington, MA
More details on the FAC website:

What can you expect?

Lee's teaching emphasizes style: dancing well, not just “getting the steps.” Whenever he can, he also tries to bring improvisation, self-expression and spontaneity back into the folk-dancing traditions where these elements are a central part of the tradition. And he never loses sight of the fact that we recreational folk dancers dance because it is fun, and because these dances mean something to us – just as they were fun and meant something to the village dancers before us!

We hope you can all attend!
