Dear Friends,

It is with a sad heart that I tell you that Rose Abendstern passed away this week, in the morning hours on Monday.

Her funeral will be on Thursday, July 10.  Brian Bianchini, Rose’s long-time partner, invites all who can to join in bidding farewell to Rose at the Cambridge Cemetery, at 11:30am.

Cambridge Cemetary (76 Coolidge Ave., Cambridge, MA) is across the sidestreet of Coolidge Ave. from Mount Auburn Cemetery.  There will be a short gravesite ceremony, with opportunity for her friends to say their own words in memory of Rose.  We will meet at the front gate of the cemetery, then follow the hearse from Rogers Funeral Home to Rose’s final resting place.

Brian has also begun planning, with FAC, a dance in her honor and memory for some time in the future.  While we do not know the date and other details, one thing we do know is that the refreshment table will include her pride and joy, her annual New Year’s Eve party contributions of homemade salmon mousse and liver pâté!

Yours in sorrow,
Marcie

This is sad news indeed. Rose was also a jeweler, she made gorgeous
necklaces and my wife Dee has one. Rose and Brian, two of the nicest
people ever - I spent time sitting with Brian at the welcome table at
the Sat night dances many times. I expect it will be easy finding
musicians to play for the memorial dance.
