Hi all!
Another really fun Tuesday night at Folk Dancing by the Fountain - our free, outdoor dancing series in Copley Square.
Perfect weather - really really perfect! And it was great to bring back live music to Copley Square - Conical Cacophony sounded great, and their music drew in a good crowd.
A big thank you to Henry Goldberg for making this week happen!
Janet Yercaris and Henry taught/led the dancers - with many new faces happily joining the dance circle. All seemed very happy with their new found skills.
And it was great to see so many experienced dancers in attendance - who enjoyed the dance AND helped guide the newer dancers - nicely done!
[Still noting no one “got” anyone wearing a tie to join the dance, but the summer is young.] :-)
Kudos this week to our sound tech Kem Stewart - who made a very tricky band set-up look easy,
Great to be back at Copley Square - and we hope you will join us in the coming weeks - we’ll be there!
Next dance: Tuesday July 29: Cuban Dance - Rueda de casino, as taught by Jonathan Burke
see the FAC website for details: https://facone.org/programs/outdoor-summer-dances.html https://facone.org/programs/outdoor-summer-dances.html
Marcie will be on hand as Master of Ceremonies - and she reminded me that we may remember Jonathan from his session in Pinewoods in 2019 - he’s so much fun!
Here is a video on Youtube of a sample of Rueda de casino - my advice … start warming up your shoulders and hips!
