We have a house concert tomorrow evening, and I still have some space, so I thought I’d pass the invitation along, in case some of you might be interested. This one is old-time string band music, so if you’re already missing NEFFA, this is a great way to keep that music in your ears for longer. Details are below. We're excited to be hosting The Ruth and Ben String Band, playing Appalachian-style music. Led by guitarist Ruth Rappaport and her fiddler son, Ben Wetherbee, this inter-generational band's repertoire includes rousing, powerful old-time fiddle tunes and traditional, modern, and original songs that feature tight harmony singing. They are very spirited, and people of all ages love their enthusiastic and innovative music. The band features Joel Wennerstrom on banjo and Gian Criscitiello on upright bass.
When: Friday, May 2, 2025, 7:00 pm (doors open at 6:30)
Where: Newtonville, MA
Suggested donation: $15-$30 (sliding scale)
Contributions of snacks, desserts, and drinks (alcohol ok) are very welcome!
